AHLA Podcast: Anthony Burba Speaks on Clinical Decision Support Tools

It was an honor to speak with Gail Javitt, director, Hyman Phelps & McNamara PC, on this interesting topic for an American Health Law Association (AHLA) podcast. We also covered this topic along with Ted Lotchin from WakeMed at the AHLA Annual Meeting.

On the podcast, we discuss the promise and perils of these tools, navigating the Food and Drug Administration’s regulatory efforts, issues related to data storage and validation, and advising providers who are implementing these tools.

While clinical decision support tools, especially with the advent of artificial intelligence, have the potential to greatly improve patient care, there are concerns related to patient health and safety and fraud and abuse.
